Log Analyzer, Message Header Analyzer and other Support tools now available to Google Apps administrators

Log Analyzer, Message Header Analyzer and other Support tools now available to Google Apps administrators.

To diagnose issues pertaining to our migration tools, sync tools and email delivery, we’ve made the following tools available:

Log Analyzer: The Log Analyzer evaluates logs from a variety of our migration / sync tools and gives guidance on resolving most issues visible in the logs. Click one of the links below to visit the log analyzer for that tool:

Message Header Analyzer: The Message Header Analyzer extracts delivery and route information (server hops, message delays) from message headers and outputs the results in a less technical format so that administrators can quickly identify where an issue might have arisen and which system is responsible.

New version of Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook® now available

Version 2.5 of the Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook® plugin is now available with the following improvements:

Synchronization Status dialog now includes Notes: The Synchronization Status dialog now includes status of Outlook Notes syncing with Google Docs. (This is the dialog that opens when you first start Outlook. You can also open it from the Google Apps Sync menu in your Windows system tray.)

New version of Google Apps Migration for Lotus Notes tool now available

Version 3.1.4 of the Google Apps Migration for Lotus Notes tool is now available with the following improvements:

- New calendar migration test mode. Migrate events with full attendee details, but with no attendee fan-out. Events migrated using test mode are clearly identified as such in Google Calendar.
- Reduced size and life span of Migration Status view indexes to offer better performance in the user's mailbox.
- Miscellaneous UI improvements.

New version of Google Apps Migration for Microsoft® Exchange tool now available

Version 2.3 of the Google Apps Migration for Microsoft® Exchange tool is now available with the following improvements:

- Pre-migration diagnostics
Check for configuration errors in connectivity and authentication; and errors in your user list before you run a migration.
- Detailed migration reports
Quickly determine if any message errors occurred during a migration, why those errors occurred, and which users were affected by them.
- IMAP server list
Allows you to choose the specific type of IMAP server from which you are migrating data, which improves performance.
- New command line options:
--emapi_sleep_time -- Specifies the interval between two EMAPI requests to throttle the upload
--run_diagnostics -- Runs pre-migration diagnostics
--imap_server_type -- Specifies the type of IMAP server from which you are migrating data
--noenable_error_reports -- Prevents the utility from generating migration reports, which improves performance
- Improved data estimation feature
Feature now uses multi-threading for significantly faster overall data migration estimations.

Version 2.4 of the Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook® tool is now available with the following new features and improvements:

- Internationalization - The tool is now available in 26 languages including English
- Improved Notes sync - sub-folders sync now supported
- Performance improvement when copying/moving/deleting a large number of messages
- Support for moving/copying messages between message stores
- When replying to a message that is not in the Inbox, the reply is saved in the same folder

New version of Google Apps Migration for Lotus Notes tool available

Version 3.1.3 of the Google Apps Migration for Lotus Notes tool is now available with the following improvements:

- Empty folders in Notes are now created as labels in Apps.
- Calendar migration performance is improved (as much as 50% faster in R3.1.3).
- Added algorithms to compute values for missing fields on calendar events to improve calendar migration success rates. Previously, if a missing field meant that a valid recurrence rule could not be derived for an event, this would result in a migration failure.
- Added support for old and alternate Notes names in Calendar migration.
- Attachment repository URLs in migrated events now include web and Notes links.
- Events with no subject are now migrated.
- Mail migration now uses the original Message ID from Notes, where available. Previously, the apps domain name would be appended to the message ID value at migration time.
- Resource email addresses are now editable in the tool. This is useful if resources were not created by the tool itself.
- Phrase parts of email addresses are now removed during contacts migration.
- Deprecated the ability to toggle the Folders Processed flag for one or more users. If this process needs to be run more than once for a single user, the admin must remove and re-register that user.
- Calendar UID suffix field is now hidden.
- Miscellaneous UI changes
