A fresh start for Google Presentations plus more than 50 new features

A preview is now available of the new version of presentations with faster collaboration and more features.

In the new presentations, we’ve added many of your most requested features, including:
- Transitions to move between slides with simple fades or spicier 3D effects
- Animations to add emphasis or to make your slides more playful
- New themes to create beautiful presentations with distinct visual styles
- Drawings to build new designs, layouts, and flowcharts within a presentation
- Rich tables with merged cells and more options for adding style to your data

All languages supported by Google Presentations

How to access what's new:
In your document list, click on the gear icon and select ‘Document settings.’ Then, from the editing tab, check the box to “Create new presentations using the latest version of the presentation editor.”

Note: Many of the new features were built using technologies that are only available in modern browsers. If you’re using an older browser you’ll be able to view, but not edit, the new presentations.

Want to give access to a site but not to specific pages? Page-level sharing permissions now in Google Sites

Page-level permissions is now available in Google sites, allowing you to control who can view and edit the site on a page by page basis. For instance you can make some pages available for your domain while making some pages private for certain users.

Once enabled, there are three options to choose from:
- allow a page to inherit all of your site-level permissions
- elect to include future site-level changes to a page
- prevent a page from inheriting any future changes made at the site-level

How to access what's new:
- Only site owners have the ability to enable this feature which is turned off by default for new and existing sites.
- To turn on page-level permissions, go to ‘More Actions’, then ‘Sharing and Permissions’ and click ‘Enable page-level permissions’. Click ‘Turn on page-level permissions’.
- Select which of the three options you want for that page.

Google Spreadsheets: Now easier to discover and use functions

We’ve released some improvements to make it easier and quicker to use the functions feature in spreadsheets.

- Help snippets directly in spreadsheets: Instead of always manually building a formula, spreadsheets will now offer suggested functions and explanations of that particular function. This also supports nested functions allowing for even more complex formulas.

How to access what's new:
- Start typing a formula into a cell, now there's an auto-suggest box with the name and syntax of the function you might be looking for. Mouse over any of the suggested functions, and see a description that explains the function, its syntax, and how it’s used.

Google Documents List: Try out the new look & keyboard shortcuts

Google Apps users can now try out the new look for Google Documents List. If users opt in to the new look, keyboard shortcuts are also now available.

How to access what's new:
- Preview the new look by clicking on ‘Try the new look’ under the gear icon in the upper right. You’ll be able to return to the classic look using the same menu.

Note: If you don’t see the gear icon, then make sure your domain is on the new infrastructure for Google Apps accounts.
